The popular Nomad Bar has indoor seating, and an outdoor patio, with a great wine menu and a growing dinner menu and lots of free parking. The Cedar Door on Brazos and the Molotov on Sixth are other neighborhood favorites.

Downtown is one of the most pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods in Austin. If you live there, you don't need a car; you can walk to shops, galleries, bookstores and an array of small international boutiques everything from food to furniture, or take one of the "Dillo" buses in the area. Weekends are just as lively as workdays. You'll find film festivals, art shows and a Saturday farmer's market on Republic Square.
